Work From Your Local Campaign

The campaign asking people to work one day a week from their local has had venue registrations pouring in.

Started during lockdown 3.0, Work from your local’s community driven campaign asking people to work one day a week from a local pub, cafe or community space has attracted interest from hospitality venues around the UK.

“Two thirds of us are set to work from home more often, saving money on commuting and lunches, but bored of working in our bedroom and eating the same thing for lunch. Getting back out into communities, spending money in our favourite locals, many of which have been crippled by lockdowns, feels like a no brainer,” says Helen Rogers, Chief Campaigner at Work from your local

More than 160 venues from around the UK have signed up, offering up workspace in return for food, drinks and hospitality. With vast numbers of remote workers reporting feelings of loneliness, isolation, and fears for the economy, it’s no wonder Work from your local have received an overwhelmingly positive response to their campaign.

How does it work?

  • Venues such as pubs, cafes and community spaces add themselves to the Work from your local map stating their requirements for working there – eg. minimum spend / flat fee etc. It’s free to register and venues keep all income generated.
  • People use the map to find a venue to work from, taking note of the requirements for doing so, and off to work they go. A match is made.

Despite it not being possible to work from venues until May 17th, Work from your local are working hard to get as many venues on the map as possible. If you run a venue that would like to accommodate remote workers from May 17th, drop them an email (hello@workfromyourlocal.uk) or fill in the registration form on workfromyourlocal.uk
