Stronger Together: Working for a Safer Town Centre

by | Sep 11, 2025 | News

The largest Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) meeting for Bournemouth Town Centre to date took place on 10 September, led by the Bournemouth Town Centre BID.

Representatives from a wide range of organisations joined the BID, including Dorset Police, BCP Council’s ASB & CSAS teams, Primark, TK Maxx, Bobbys, Tesco, Flirt Cafe, PRC Streamline, Barclays Bank, Sports Direct, Superdry, Lester Aldridge, and UKPAC. Thank you to Lester Aldridge for hosting the meeting.

Key outcomes included:

  • Prolific offenders identified with clear action plans agreed
  • Successful prosecutions and sentencing communicated to members
  • Exclusion process agreed for offenders across partnership organisations
  • Increase in reporting of retail crime, anti-social behaviour and related issues

Businesses are strongly encouraged to continue reporting retail crime, ASB and aggressive begging so that evidence packs can be built to drive real action.

This is a great example of partnership working in practice, delivering safer spaces and stronger support for Bournemouth businesses.
