Reopening: Use of Outdoor Space

We are engaged with BCP Council to look at potential sites where hospitality venues would benefit from the use of outdoor space in the public realm as part of the re-opening phase indicated by central government to commence from 4th July. This is to reduce the impact of social distancing which currently requires a 2m distance between people or 4m2 per person within a set location.

There are some obvious challenges to achieving this, particularly if this includes highways currently in use or taking over parking spaces, but if you are keen to develop an external area and believe this could work for you please let us know, with a brief outline of your plan to include location, size of external area, and opening times.

This is at an investigative stage and we will work with our partners to consider potential outcomes and solutions as soon as possible, so would be grateful for an early response.
