Rangers go above and beyond

Two members of our Town Ranger team were recently commended by Dorset Police for exceptional professionalism, decision making and service to the public, following their help with locating a vulnerable missing person and making sure they were safeguarded by police – all while off duty!

We are exceptionally proud of our Rangers, who go above and beyond every day.

They have a multitude of roles, from being ambassadors for the town and its businesses, to being the eyes and ears of the town, helping recover stolen items, and sharing intelligence.

If you need to speak to a Ranger, you can either get in touch with them via your Shopwatch radio, or call the Ranger mobile. Remember if a crime is in progress you should call 999, and if you require assistance for enforcement, anti-social behaviour or concern for rough sleepers, you should call the BCP Council CSAS team on 01799 535932. Crimes that are not in progress can be reported via SentrySIS, part of the BID’s crime reduction partnership, or by 101.
