I stood for the board in order to

  • reflect the education-related aspect of the Town Centre BID area: students are important residents and consumers, with international students alone contributing around £300m annually  to the local economy
  • support the regeneration of Lansdowne – in its own right as a live/work/study area, and also as an attractive and stimulating route between the train station and town centre.

I draw on 25+ years’ experience working in international contexts in the UK and overseas, plus my experience in various roles in the public and private sector.. One example is chairing the International Education Forum working group which successfully launched the One World By The Sea festival to showcase the diversity of Bournemouth and Poole, and promote it as an education destination which overtly welcomes international visitors.
