Proposed new Permitted Development Right

A group of Trade Associations including British BIDs and ATCM (Association of Town and City Management) have written to the Secretary of State, Robert Jenrick, to urge him to reconsider the proposed plans to extend Permitted Development Rights.

Extending Permitted Development Rights would mean that shops, restaurants and gyms could be converted to housing without any planning permission.  British BIDs and ATCM believe that this would place local centres at risk and that town centres must be planned by local authorities working alongside business and the community.
