There were nearly five million visits to Bournemouth town centre in August.
The latest report from data analysts Visitor Insights outlines 4,493,625 individual trips, down 6% on July.
However the average dwell time increased to 215 minutes, an 11% rise month on month.
The average number of indoor locations visited per trip was 2.1 with 4% of visitors being weekly and 19% monthly.
The most popular visit day in the month was Tuesday with 172,000 average visits.
The highest footfall month so far this year was May with 5.9 million visits.
