It’s a monster of an event

A monster-themed family event is set to draw the crowds into Bournemouth town centre ahead of Halloween. It promises to be a real spectre-cle!

Backed by the BID, Monster Hunt is on October 27 and 28 at Horseshoe Common, Beale Place, Westover Road, Bourne Avenue, and Commercial Road.

There will be a witch, vampire, siren, dead pirate at each location or even Frankenstein – appropriate because the grave of author Mary Shelley is in nearby St Peter’s Churchyard.

Families can enjoy free storytelling along with improvised acting as well as a roaming monster alongside the Pantheatrix group, who will deliver a live performance parade through the town centre.

It all takes place between 12-4 on both days, organised by students and staff from the Arts University Bournemouth events management course.

Levy paying businesses can join in by advertising special Halloween offers in the event programme and on posters.

Town Centre BID Chief Operating Officer, Paul Kinvig, said: “We are anticipating a superb, eye-catching, and imaginative production from the very talented AUB team who brought us the popular Alice in Spring earlier in the year.

“I am sure Monster Hunt will also bring in the crowds and we are really looking forward to this event. It’s something very different for the town centre and will be a terrific experience.”
