The Gardens of Light is a Christmas event designed to deliver a steady increase in footfall to Bournemouth town centre during the most important time of year.

We hope everyone in Bournemouth town centre has a very profitable Christmas!

Plans for this year’s Gardens of Light event are being finalised and preliminary publicity has already started, with all hotels and other accomodation providers across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch receiving posters and leaflets so their summer visitors know to come back to Bournemouth at Christmas. Last year’s event saw a significant increase in town centre footfall over the previous year, and more importantly over the national baseline figure. The event also won two presitigous national awards, helping to put Bournemouth on the map as a Christmas destination. We aim to improve and expand the event this year, bringing many thousands of additional people into the town centre, day and night, over the five week build up to Christmas. We also ask all businesses with an interest in Bournemouth town centre succeeding to do what they can to promote the Gardens of Light event. The more people that know about the event and come to Bournemouth to see it, the better for all businesses.
