Bournemouth Town Centre BID has introduced an expanded programme of Christmas lighting across several areas of the town centre, adding new displays in Old Christchurch Road, the Triangle and Commercial Road, Beale Place, Westover Road and Horseshoe Common.
On Old Christchurch Road, new festive lighting has been installed using the recently fitted catenary wires, delivered in partnership with BCP Council and the Town Centre Improvement Fund. This year’s programme includes a 40% increase in street-light installations across the wider town centre, enhancing the overall display and creating a brighter, more immersive festive experience for visitors.
The Triangle and Beale Place feature a dedicated photo point ideal for family photos. Christmas trees and lighting can be found on Westover Road. At Horseshoe Common there are lit hanging decorations from the trees, as well as lit natural Christmas trees.

This is the third consecutive year that Bournemouth Town Centre BID has provided Christmas street lighting throughout the town centre following the withdrawal of council funding for festive displays. The scheme is fully funded by the BID.
Paul Lennard, director of Bournemouth Town Centre BID and Store Manager of Primark, said:
“Christmas remains an important time for the town centre. By extending lighting into more locations, we aim to create a consistent festive environment and improve the overall visitor experience across Bournemouth town centre.”
The new installations are now in place and are already being enjoyed by visitors following the lighting trail across the wider town centre.
