The Bournemouth Writing Festival has become a catalyst for creativity in the town centre over the last three years, with literary events taking place in multiple BID businesses.

The Bournemouth Town Centre BID was proud to support a brand new installation for this year’s festival, with a dedicated poetry hub on Horseshoe Common. The marquee hosted two days of free and accessible poetry events, split into:

  • An open-plan area with family-friendly, drop-in activities and informal workshops curated and led by the Winchester Poetry Festival
  • A performance area with curated poetry sessions, open mics, and themed showcases led by community leader Kim West. Over 20 performers are scheduled to perform, bringing their friends and creatives with them.
  • Lucanart creating a bespoke piece of artwork over the weekend.
