Bournemouth Town Team scoops Dorset Police Award

At the recent Dorset Police Awards, the Bournemouth Town Centre Team were awarded the Community Engagement Partnership and Collaboration Award.

The Town Team is a collaboration between Dorset Police, the Town Centre BID and BCP Council, set up to improve communication and remove obstacles to effective enforcement within the town centre.

Dorset Police said: “This partnership has significantly enhanced communication, which has helped with the implementation of local initiatives like Clear Hold Build, community engagements and enforcement activity.

“This collaboration has improved incident and crime reporting, allowing the team to focus on the issues most affecting the local community by identifying hot spot locations and creating a positive impact, inspiring the public to contribute to problem solving initiatives. This has helped reduce anti-social behaviour and associated crime, improved engagement with local communities and businesses and led to an increase in high visibility patrols.
