BID brings businesses together with BCP Council

Yesterday, Bournemouth Town Centre BID brought more than 15 businesses together with senior BCP Council cabinet members and officers for a full and frank discussion about the impact of recent parking and loading changes on Upper Old Christchurch Road.

Businesses had the opportunity to put their concerns directly to those responsible, including the loss of parking spaces, the positioning of loading bays and bus stops, illegal parking and enforcement, along with the wider impact the changes are having on businesses and their customers.

It was important that senior Council representatives heard first-hand from the businesses operating on the street about the negative impact they are experiencing on trade.

The meeting also resulted in a commitment from the Council representatives to return to the group promptly with a review of the current arrangements and possible changes.

This is an important part of the BID’s role – bringing businesses together and making sure their voices are heard by the organisations whose decisions directly affect the town centre.
