On Monday 28 January, work will begin on Beale Place, following the successful trial pedestrianisation of the area. Bournemouth Council will be creating a new public space for people to enjoy and for events to take place.
New landscaping and paving, modern seating, plants and trees, as well as public art celebrating Bournemouth’s literary history are planned.
Works are expected to take around five months. Beale Place will remain open during the works and access to shops, cafes, banks and other properties will be maintained.
If you want to keep up to date with progress, keep an eye on www.bournemouth.gov.uk/bealeplace, which will be updated as the project moves on.
For those businesses who may be affected by the works the council has arranged a special drop in event on Wednesday 23 January from 6:30-8pm at Beales Prosecco Bar with refreshments included. This will be an ideal opportunity for you to meet the Project team and the Contractor who will be delivering the works, and to ask any questions about the project and the construction schedule.
If you plan to attend please RSVP by email to road.safety@bournemouth.gov.uk.
