The Town Centre BID
The Town Centre BID has a simple underlying aim – to increase footfall and help you boost your profits.
In May 2012, proposals to establish the Bournemouth Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) were approved, and in May 2017 a further vote was taken with 78% by number of businesses and 89% by rateable value voting YES for the BID.
The Bournemouth Town Centre BID is a not for profit company with a board of directors made up of representatives of the levy paying businesses. Primarily funded by nearly 700 businesses within the BID area, the initiative invested over £3 million into the town centre in its first 5 year term, and will invest a further £3 million over the second 5 year term in raising the profile of the town centre, increasing footfall and ultimately bringing your business more customers.
On top of these levy contributions, additional funding is being raised through voluntary contributions, sponsorship and matched funding for specific projects.
Every penny is being invested into making Bournemouth Town Centre a better place for visitors, locals and businesses alike.
