This Christmas, Bournemouth is the place to B.

 Christmas is approaching fast, and we want you, our levy payers, to be fully aware of what will be going on in the town centre over the festive period, including a free parking offer, late night shopping dates, and a selection of attractions designed to bring people into the town centre and to your business.

 This year, Christmas will be marketed heavily both to locals and further afield, with a TV advert on Sky Adsmart in the Bournemouth and Southampton areas, a leaflet distributed to local postcodes, a social media campaign targeting families within a 90 minute drive time, and a comprehensive package of PR and advertising.

 We have been in negotiations with Bournemouth Council, and are pleased to announce that free parking will once more be available in selected Bournemouth Council car parks in the lead-up to Christmas – not only that, but we’ve managed to negotiate an extra Thursday date!

NEW THIS YEAR – NUTCRACKER TRAIL

19 NOV – 31 DEC

 This year we are introducing a new attraction – the Nutcracker Trail! 20 Nutcracker Kings will be dotted around Bournemouth (15 in the town centre and 5 in the coastal areas, courtesy of the Coastal BID), and the trail challenge is to find as many as possible to be in with a chance of winning an iPad Mini. Of course our real aim is to get people exploring more of the town centre, and getting them onto your doorstep!

20,000 Trail Booklets will be delivered to local schools, hotels and businesses and these will also contain vouchers for town centre businesses (thank you for your fantastic response to this), encouraging people to explore even further and come back for a return visit.

GIANT SNOW GLOBE

5 DEC – 18 DEC

Our Giant Snow Globe was incredibly popular last year and generated huge amounts of social media excitement and goodwill. We are delighted to announce that it will be returning this year, and once more will be popping up in different locations around the town centre to further encourage people to move around and explore different areas of the town. People can step inside and get a special Christmassy photo to take away with them for free.

Lower Gardens

 The beautiful alpine inspired outdoor ice rink from the Hilton & THAT Group will be returning to the Lower Gardens, but it will be bigger and better than before, with a larger rink planned. The Après-Skate chalet will have blankets, mulled cider and a selection of hot food and drinks.

ILLUMINATIONS

18 NOV – 3 JAN

Lower Gardens

 This year, the Lower Gardens will be filled with beautiful fairy lights and snowflake projections in a magical Christmas display, leading through the gardens.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION LAUNCH

From 6.30pm

 Join us at Pier Approach on 18 November for the launch of our Bournemouth Christmas Celebration. With live entertainment, light shows and a beach firework display from 6.30pm. Special guest appearances by X Factor Finalist Max Stone and the Ugly Sisters from the Bournemouth Pavilion pantomime, Cinderella.
