Bournemouth Town Centre BID has been Nominated for National BID Award for the popular Metropole Market
- With voting now open to the public, the Bournemouth Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) has been shortlisted in The National BID Awards 2018 for the Metropole Market.
Launched in September 2017 and renewed for 2018, Bournemouth’s Metropole Market has brought a series of fun, musical and themed events to Holdenhurst Road in Lansdowne. Showcasing local businesses and featuring an array of small independent traders, the hugely successful Bournemouth Town Centre BID project has now been recognised with a Place Management Award nomination in the National BID Awards 2018.
An incredibly popular and free community event, Metropole Market has drawn tens of thousands of visitors to Holdenhurst Road since its inception. Metropole Market was established by the Town Centre BID to help boost the local economy, increase footfall in Lansdowne and give Bournemouth residents and visitors another reason to spend time with family in Bournemouth.
Shortlisted for the National BID Award, Bournemouth Town Centre BID is now calling on Bournemouth residents, traders, local businesses and past market-goers to cast their votes for the Metropole Market in the Place Management Award Category.
Paul Kinvig, Chief Operating Officer at Town Centre BID, comments:
“We are thrilled to be nominated for the National BID Awards 2018 for the Metropole Market. Over the last year, we have seen the event grow into a much-loved experience, which continues to attract thousands of people with its unique and quirky themes. We hope you will show your support and help the market achieve this national recognition.’’
Earlier in the year, the Bournemouth Town Centre BID was also awarded the ‘Best Event’ of the Year Award at the Association of Town and City Management Awards for its work with the Metropole Market. The next Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’ themed Metropole Market takes place on Sunday the 28th October.
